I was born and brought up in India and  did my undergraduate in Mathematics and Computing from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.  I am a Canadian Permanent Resident and am currently based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 


Mathematics and literature are two topics that I have been always been passionate about throughout my life.  My professional journey as a quantitative analyst and data scientist enabled me to apply advanced analytics to solve real world problems in investing, demand forecasting, pricing and credit risk analysis. 


I was trading equities, foreign exchange and fixed income using systematic strategies during my 10 year stint in Hong Kong, Singapore and India. Witnessing the increasing application of artificial intelligence in asset management, I transitioned to a full time career as a data scientist since 2020. 


The underrepresentation of women in senior roles in STEM, financial investing and technology was a constant theme that I encountered during my career. The lack of sponsorship and female role models to look up to discourages young women from purusing these fields. I was motivated to wrote the novel "Five Tales from the Land of Five Rivers" as I wanted to highlight the economic and political impact of women in history. Our human race will be disadvantaged if the intellectual and economic potential of 50% of the population is not allowed to prosper.


Creative writing is a hobby that I pursue in my spare time. My maternal grandfather was a Sanskrit scholar and he regaled my cousins and me often with tales from Indian history and mythology. My summer vacations were incomplete without the treasure trove of ancient folktales and stories that I heard from him. I was inspired to write short stories and poems after reading books from the library that he had painstakingly gathered at home.
